Rutherford County is in western North Carolina, on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains, making up a portion of the border with South Carolina. We're surrounded by mountains from the southwest through the northeast, plus three Interstate highways. In a rural location, we are far enough away from the heavily populated areas to still be able to see a sky full of stars, watch wildlife, enjoy peace and quiet, and not have the traffic issues, yet it's an easy drive to get to any of the good things cities have to offer.

As you can see, we're located between Asheville and Charlotte, North Carolina. This unique area gives us great access to medium and large towns, even international travel. Charlotte's Douglas International Airport is west of the city, only a little over an hour's drive from Rutherfordton.

When going to Asheville, the drive around Lake Lure is beautiful, and adds a little traveling time. North to Interstate 40 is the quicker path, taking only 45 minutes to reach Asheville from Rutherfordton.
